Friday is my favorite day of the week in Israel – there are always so many exciting things to do, and sometimes it’s fun to just hang out and do nothing at all…but next Friday, April 1, 2011 – I’d rather be in New York to hear the Eatliz/Consider the Source concert at the City Winery.

I’ve written a lot about this band, and that’s because every time I hear their music it sends my mind wandering in a different direction, and hearing them live makes my heart race.

Eatliz is an amazing alternative rock band from Tel Aviv; this is their first tour in North America. After performances at Canadian Music Week and SXSW in Austin, Texas, they’ve been touring with Consider the Source since March 19 – with good times and great concerts through Texas, Georgia and South Carolina. Now the two bands will be heading north, with concerts coming up in North Carolina, on their way to New York.

I think the concert at the City Winery on April 1 will be an incredible experience – I wish I could be there. There are links to Eatliz songs, videos and tour dates here, and this interview on Strictly Global makes a great introduction to the band:

But nothing can compare to a live concert.
