Fresh Paint # 4 Contemporary Art Fair Tel Aviv will be open from April 5 – 9, 2011 at the Botanic Garden site, 51 Ben Zvi Street, next to the Abu Navot garden. In addition to showcasing the works of independent artists alongside artists represented by leading Israeli galleries, there will be a myriad of activities throughout the fair – from the Fresh Paint Salon talks with figures from the art world, to children’s workshops and more…

20:30 – Emerging Art in Berlin: Galleries and Art Fairs, with Kristian Jarmuschek, Klaus-Rüdiger Lange and Ralf Schmitt, directors of Preview Berlin, moderated by Friederike Schir.
Wednesday, April 6th at 18:00 – Special Project Conversation: The Principle of Moments. Artistic collaborations between Israel and Germany with Artist Karen Irmer, Germany; Artist Uriel Miron, Israel; and Curator Friederike Schir. Moderated by Thomas Elsen, Director H2 Center for Contemporary Art, Augsburg, Germany.

Thursday, April 7 at 19:00: The Future of Death/A2 Company London – artists Alit Kreiz and Anton Mirto will discuss their forthcoming installation at the Bezalel Yafo 23 gallery, moderated by Prof. Roy Brand, Curator and Director of the Gallery.
21:00: musician Shlomi Shaban talks to author Dorit Ravinyan.
Friday, April 8, at 16:00: Senior Curator and Restorer Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Dr. Doron J. Lurie will discuss “What would Leonardo Da Vinci and Michaelangelo have to say about Fresh Paint?”
Saturday, April 9 at 13:00: Tziporela Ensemble will talk about the inspiration for their wildly funny shows with video clips.
14:00 – Curator Ellen Ginton will talk with Dor Guez, one of the three artists short-listed for the Nathan Gottesdiener Award, about his work.
15:00 – What happens when football meets video art? A panel discussion moderated by Mati Shmuelof, with Zohar Elfant, Tamuz Beinstock, Sharon Barnef and Itamar Shimshoni.
17:00 – Blazer and Ms.Use get naked at Fresh Paint, a panel discussion with Blazer Magazine Editor Lior Naaman, and Merav Maroody & Sivan Shtang, Editors of Ms.Use Magazine, moderated by journalist Yuval Saar.
Each year the Igal Ahouvi Art Collection presents an award to the Most Promising Artist, the winner is announced at the fair’s opening and receives a solo exhibition at the fair the following year. Fresh Paint #3 Most Promising Artist Nivi Alroy will present a solo exhibition Food Chain, curated by Tami Katz-Freiman at Fresh Paint #4. Alroy, B.A. graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and M.A. graduate of the School of Visual Arts, New York, creates works in different media – sculpture, drawing, animation and installation – all of which will be represented in the exhibit.
This year’s Most Promising Artist will be announced at the opening of the fair. The 2011 Award Committee includes: Igal Ahouvi, Art collector and Chairman of the committee; Jessica Morgan, The Daskalopoulous Curator, International Art, Tate Modern, London; Edna Moshenson, Independent Curator, Tel Aviv; Igael Tumarkin, Artist, Israel; Shay Rosen, Head of the Igal Ahouvi Art Collection, and Sarit Shapira, Curator of the Igal Ahouvi Art Collection.
Another award to be announced at the fair is the Sotheby’s Auction House Under the Hammer – one of the works by independent artists exhibiting at the fair is chosen by Sotheby’s staff to be sold at the December Israeli art auction in New York, with proceeds from the sale given in full to the artist.
Children Workshops will take place on Saturday, April 9th:
11:00 – 13:30: Kids Love Israeli Art with the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and The
Meyerhoff Art Education Center, workshops begin every 30 min., suitable for ages 5-95.
14:30 – 16:00: Drawings inspired by Reuven Rubin’s paintings with the Rubin Museum, Tel Aviv, suitable for ages 4 – 10.

Fresh Paint # 4 2011 will take place at The Botanic Garden site, by Reality Fund, 51 Ben Zvi Street, next to the Abu Navot garden from April 5 – 9, 2011. Admission is 35 NIS and includes entry to the Fresh Paint Salon on a space-available basis. The Bloomfield Stadium parking lot is recommended, and Dan Bus Lines reaching the area are: 92, 84, 154, 119, 41, 2, 1. Opening hours are: April 5, 6, & 7 from 17:00 – 22:00, April 8 from 11:00 – 19:00, and April 9 from 10:00 – 22:00.
