Coming to Israel for one performance only – Mojave3 will be at the Barby in Tel Aviv on May 7, 2011! The members of this British indie band are: Neil Halstead, Rachel Goswell, Simon Rowe, Alan Forrester, and Ian McCutcheon. If you haven’t heard them yet, it’s time to start listening.
Before forming Mojave3 Goswell, Halstead and McCutcheon performed together as Slowdive, considered part of the shoegazing subgenre of alternative rock in the UK – vocals as instrument, distortion, ambient soundscapes – cool. When Slowdive broke up in 1994, they decided to explore a more acoustic sound as Mojave3, releasing their first album Ask Me Tomorrow in 1995.
The three were joined by Simon Rowe and Alan Forrester soon after and the group has released five albums together, with two solo segues along the way: Neil Halstead’s Sleeping On Roads and Rachel Goswell’s Waves Are Universal. Their 5th album, Puzzles Like You, was produced in New York by Victor Van Vugt (PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Beth Orton, Luna, Athlete), and the cover was designed by Thomas Campbell.
