The Board of Directors of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art held a meeting on 19.6.11, following the death of Prof. Mordechai Omer, Director and Chief Curator of the museum, who passed away nine days earlier. The Board appointed a committee tasked with finding a new Director for the museum. The committee will be headed by Haim Samet, and its members are: Irit Rapaport, Doron Sabag, Allen Berav, and Ron Pundak. A spokesperson for the museum stated that the committee is interested in finding a suitable Director as soon as possible.
The committee has appointed Deputy Director Shuli Kislev as interim Director, Senior Curators Ellen Ginton and Dr. Doron J. Lurie will supervise the current exhibition plan for the museum.
