What began as a spontaneous nostalgic notion has become a tradition, with people coming in from all corners of Israel to enjoy covers of the greats: Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Joe Cocker, The Beatles, Cat Stevens and Bob Dylan.

The Woodstock message of “peace & love” may sound naive and quaint today, yet Jerusalem Woodstock Revival is one of the few events in Israel where one can see families with young children dancing next to college students, an aerial view reveals a fairly even mix of kippah/no kippah in the crowd, the mood is mellow and everyone is high on the music.

There have been many memorable moments in past concerts, with great Israeli musicians, the presence of those happy few who were at the original Woodstock, and the Best Dressed Hippie competition.

Coming to Jerusalem Woodstock Revival V:

The Ori Naftaly Band will be coming to Jerusalem Woodstock Revival straight from their US tour!  A good blues band is hard to find – so check out their debut album A True Friend is Hard to Find and enjoy!

***UPDATE*** Ory Naftaly & the band are stuck in the US… never fear – Mark Rashkow and his blues band are stepping up! Check out his page here.

Libi is back this year! She’s an amazing performer, a real rocker lady with great pipes and a heart of gold. Read more about Libi here and here.

Michael Greilsammer and his band will morph into Led Zeppelin for one night only – don’t miss the magic of his electric violin!

Remember – Woodstock would never have been possible if Max Yasgur had not agreed to let all those hippies make music & mayhem on his dairy farm in Upstate New York in 1969. Cousin Abigail Yasgur tells the story in lively style and psychedelic color in Max Said Yes. Abigail will return to Jerusalem Woodstock Revival this year – welcome back Abigail!
