Winners announced for the 21st Haifa International Children’s Theatre Festival, 2011:

First Prize was awarded to Let’s Move, a Haifa Theatre production, written by Gidona Raz and Sharon Burstein, directed by Norman Issa, and performed by Yuval Stunis, Raanan Paz, Dana Duneitz, Sharon Freedman, Sharon Burstein and Gidona Raz. The fast-moving musical play is about a boy who discovers music as a way of solving his problems at school. Playing the lead in Let’s Move is Yuval Stunis, who was named Actor of the Year for his performance in this role. Tamer Nefar and Rami Saleh won Composers of the Year for their original music compositions for the play.

The competition jury included: Chairperson Zipi Pines, Shifra Sheinman, Diti Ronen, Eli Bijaoui and Lily Ben Nachshon.

Click to the Heart, a production of the Orna Porat Theater for Children and Youth, received several awards: Director of the Year to Yael Tilman, Playwright of the Year to Yuval Berger, Actress of the Year to Shai-Li Hirsh, an award for Set and Prop Design to Zeev Levi, and an award for Lighting Design to Adi Shomroni.

Maor Zabar received the award for Costume Design for the imaginative and witty costumes he created for Treasure Mountain.
