Asia Naifeld and Udi Persi in Room 514 by Sharon Bar Ziv

Sharon Bar Ziv’s first feature film Room 514 has been selected to participate in the Bright Future program section of debut or second feature films at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The 41st edition of the film festival will take place from January 25 to February 5, 2012.

Room 514 was produced thanks to the support of the Israel Film Fund. The film depicts the complex Israeli reality, telling the story of a military investigator, a young beautiful woman of Russian heritage, who must contend with a respected officer accused of violent behavior. Room 514 examines the experience of a woman working within a closed, ultra-male environment.

Asia Naifeld, an actress in the Haifa Theatre’s young ensemble, plays the lead. A graduate of the Nissan Nattiv Acting Studio, this is her first lead role in a film. Bar Ziv, who wrote and directed the film, has previously appeared in films and theatre, as well as written for television series.
