The third concert of Tel Aviv’s Jazz Series, “A Meeting of Two”, will take place on Friday, March 23rd at the Israeli Opera – Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center (TAPAC). Italian pianist Stefano Bollani will be hosting a duet of internationally acclaimed musicians, both of whom originated from Israel: Clarinetist Anat Cohen and Pianist Omri Mor.
Bollani and Cohen will open the show with original pieces and songs from the Brazilian, Italian and Israeli collection, and will be followed by a duet debut of Bollani and Mor, in which they’ll be unveiling original material.
Italian pianist Stefano Bollani is renowned throughout Europe for his contribution to the jazz scene, and has been ranked by the American ‘Downbeat’ magazine as one of the top three pianists in the world. Ever since his debut performance in the 2006 Jazz Series in Israel Bollani has become an Israeli jazz favourite, performing each year for fans of his unfettered style.
Anat Cohen, clarinetist and saxophonists, has been exploding on the international jazz scene since 1999. She’s a permanent fixture in ‘Downbeats’ list of top clarinetists of the year and a member of the ensemble “Cohen Brothers”, including her brother Avishai on the trumpet and Yuval on the saxophone. Anat’s repertoire includes collaboration with Kenny Barron, Benny Green and Peter Washington. Omri Mor, a jazz, classical and modern pianist, has been playing in successful ensembles both in Israel and internationally and has recording albums with contrabassist Omer Avital and Saxophonist Daniel Zamir. He has recently established himself in internationally renowned bassist Avishai Cohen’s trio, due to perform around the world.
