One Square Meter – the Jerusalem Poetry Festival returns to the Botanic Gardens from July 3 – 5, 2012 with poetry readings, music and workshops. The 5th edition of the festival presented by the Ketovet poetry group (Gilad Meiri, Shai Dotan, Lyor Shternberg, Ariel Zinder and Dorit Weisman) and The Poetry Place, will explore contemporary Israeli life from an intimate, poetic perspective.
Opening night events will feature a rock tribute to poet Roni Somekh, with Efrat Gosh, Chanan Ben Simon, Yaheli Sobol, Eran Zur and Hemi Rodner singing Hai Meirzadh’s compositions to Somekh’s poetry, commissioned for the festival. . Night time poetry events will be accompanied by music performances – Efrat Ben Zur with songs from her album Robin, the poems of Emily Dickinson set to music – on July 4th, and Israel Breit with songs of poets on July 5th.
