The Israeli Chamber Music Club will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a special concert at the Felicja Blumental Center in Tel Aviv, on Friday, November 30 at 14:00. The club enables students and young musicians to take part in concerts alongside seasoned performers. It also highlights works by Israeli composers, from the pioneers of Israeli music to the young generation of today, and aims to revive works that have been forgotten or rarely performed.
The highlight of the evening will be the world premiere performance of “Carmel”, a new composition by Hillel Tzori, one of the Chamber Music Club’s founders. Besides “Carmel”, the program will feature works by some of Israel’s most prominent and influential composers, such as Yehezkel Braun’s “Fancy” (“Shigayon”) for cello and piano, Moshe Zorman Sonatina for violin and piano, and Yaron Gottfried’s Duet for violin and cello.
Performing these works and more will be Chamber Music Club founders Hillel Zori (cello), Nitay Zori (violin) and Michal Tal (piano). They will be joined by guest performers Einat Aronstein (soprano), Noam Carmon and Danny Ardman (clarinet) and Gili Radian (viola).
The Israeli Chamber Music Club was founded in 2003 in order to support, nurture and advance chamber music in Israel and encourage young musicians to play and enjoy chamber music. The club places special value on works by Israeli composers. The founders are all well-respected musicians in their own right, and they provide the younger generation with instruction and inspiration in finding their own musical interests and in fully understanding the music they play and perform. All of this is done with excitement and a passion for music.
The Chamber Music Club’s anniversary concert promises to be a special example of the club’s activities and goals, and of the collaboration between veteran musicians and newcomers that plays such an important role in the Israeli classical music scene.
The concert will take place in the library of the Felicja Blumental Center, 26 Bialik Street, Tel Aviv, on Friday, November 30 at 14:00. Tickets cost 40 NIS – 50 NIS, and can be ordered by phone at 03-6201185 (extension 1) or website.
