The future of democracy in Israel is on the agenda at Tomorrow 2013, a one day conference initiated by several individuals as a response to their growing concern over the current cultural climate in Israel, citing the exclusion of women, homophobia, and expressions of hatred aimed at the skeptic/atheist community as indicators of a threat to the secular/democratic character of the State of Israel.

The conference will take place tomorrow, Thursday, January 10, 2013 at ZOA House, beginning at 16:30. Spanning six hours, the conference will include panel discussions, workshops, lectures and other activities led by 30 academics and public figures. Speakers will include: philosopher and novelist Professor Yaakov Malkin; Professor Maya Bar-Hillel; Professor Menachem Fisch; futurist Dr. Roey Tzezana; novelist Dr. Dan Bone; Professor Amir Karniel and evolutionist Professor Yoel Rak.

The conference organizers aim to raise public awareness and understanding of science, protest the growing exclusion of science from the educational system, fight the hatred directed against atheist groups, combat the exclusion of women and demand equal rights and responsibilities for all, and above all – to work towards the separation of religion and state. The conference organizers are: Harel Eilam, Reut Sharabani, Israel Fayvish, Tom Sadeh,  Yanir Tearrosh, and Shaked Or.

The conference will take place at ZOA House, 26 Ibn Gvirol Street, Tel Aviv, at 16:30 on January 10, 2013. Tickets are 30 NIS advance purchase/40 NIS at the door. Consult the website for tickets and additional information.
