Piano Pieces in C, a concert of the works of composer Willy Weiner, will take place at the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and Dance on February 20, 2013 at 19:00 in Navon Hall. The concert will be performed by Armenian pianist Ahahit Nersesyan, professor of Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. Admission is free.

Weiner has composed a cycle of orchestral works inspired by Jewish themes in three albums: Exodus, Dream, and My People. The piano collection launched in this concert includes 15 orchestral pieces from these albums, arranged for piano by Willy Weiner. This edition is published by the Ministry of Culture of Armenia, as part of their project “Through culture to tolerance” and is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia and the activity of the Jewish community of Armenia. The chief editor, author and art director of the project is Armen Arnautov, Vice President of JCC Menora in Armenia. This issue of Piano Pieces in C will be donated to the conservatories and other educational institutions of countries with a history and tradition of Armenian and Jewish diasporas, and has already become part of the libraries of music academies in Armenia, Georgia, Russia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

The concert is jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of Armenia, the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and Dance, the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, and the Jewish Cultural Center “Menora” in Armenia; and sponsored by “FinCIB” International Investment Holding and “Antares” Media Holding. General concert producer is Albert Shubaev and Artistic director of the project is Armen Arnautov.
