Come, Feel – Sahar Azimi’s powerfully moving dance piece is returning to the stage in a special evening that will also feature Azimi’s return to his first love: song. Before embarking on his career as a dancer/choreographer, Sahar Azimi sang, and more recently, after a long hiatus, returned to music as a participant on The Voice. Now he combines his two loves, music and dance, in a double feature that will be performed at Jaffa Port in Warehouse 2 from March 7 – 9, 2013.

Come, Feel explores the sense of yearning, the need to fill an absence both physical and emotional. Azimi originally choreographed the intensely physical dance work as Iron Horses, a duet of two men, which premiered in Curtain Up 2006 at the Suzanne Dellal Centre, performed by Azimi and Tsuf Izhaky. Azimi then developed the piece into the evening length work Come, Feel, a quartet of two men and two women, which premiered at Tmuna Theatre in 2007.

The welcome return of this work to the stage features new cast members Anat Grigorio and Oryan Ohayon, alongside Azimi and Itzhaky. All are outstanding dancers, with a strong, individual stage presence and expressive force. Musician Didi Erez performs the beautiful soundtrack for this work live onstage, featuring Jimmy and Mama Yancey’s How Long Blues, and Tim Buckley’s moving Song to the Siren. The talented Dani Fishof will do the lighting design and costumes by Muslin Brothers.

Sahar Azimi will host Didi Erez, Amir Drezi and Dafna Shilon in his first independent music performance. Azimi and Erez are long-time friends and creative partners, working together for the past decade on the musical aspect of Azimi’s choreography. In this evening, they will take the musical stage together for the first time. Azimi first met new creative partners Amir Drezi and Dafna Shilon on The Voice, and invited them to join him in this new exploration.

The evening’s repertoire will be composed of original songs, including “Kol Mabat” by Didi Erez, as well as covers of David Bowie and Jeff Buckley.
