Expect the unexpected, and get ready to laugh: the Israeli Improvisation Championship will take place at Tzavta from March 18 – 21, 2013! 20 teams will compete in three categories: professionals, students, and amateurs. Let’s not forget the audience, who are major players in this interactive genre – audience members may be asked to suggest themes, locations and situations, and just as important, the applause will be measured and will determine which team goes on to the next level!

The Israeli Improvisation Championship was initiated by two actors, Daniel Botzer and Elad Cohen, to promote the art of improv in Israel, and is co-production with Tzavta. The winners of last year’s competition are Lama Alpaca (Yahav Gal, Amitay Milo, Ilan Popko), one of Israel’s longest-running improv ensembles. The evening competitions will be hosted by Amitai Yaish Ben Uzilio, the artistic director of the event.

The nights will be filled with laughter, music and drink – with late night performances every night after the competition.
