A rocking race in Rishon LeZion on May 3, 2013, will celebrate Rishon’s 130th anniversary! Modeled after similar marathons in Europe and the US, there will be several music stations along the running route, leading up to the finish line where Mercedes Band will perform.
The race will include a 21 kilometer half-marathon route, a 10 kilometer route in memory of Captain Eran Alkawi, blessed be his memory, and a 2 kilometer route; thus enabling people of all ages and abilities to take part in this unique marathon.
Register (135 NIS – 21K; 105 NIS – 10K; 50 NIS – 2K) on the website, all runners in the 21K & 10K races will receive a race packet with a Brooks sweat-wicking shirt, a number, a timing chip and other goodies. There will, of course, be prizes!
Participating bands include: RockVille – cover band with a tribute to Queen; JA – PROject – trance; Rennie & Island (The Voice) – acoustic guitar and harmony, covers of Dylan, Simon and the Beatles; Fun Machine – covers of Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, and Beyonce; music ensembles from the Rimon Jazz School, and DJ stands.
