BPM College, Israel’s leading institute for sound and musical production studies, is adding another great to their list of guest speakers: psychedelic trance guru Simon Posford, also known by his stage name Hallucinogen, will be speaking at BPM’s upcoming artists workshop on Friday, May 24th at 18:30 at the Ozen Bar.
Posford has specialized in psychedelic trance music since the early 90s, coinciding with the release of his first album, Twisted, in 1995. The first track of the album, LSD, is still iconized as being the defining sound of Goa trance, while the album itself is considered one of the most influential in the genre. He has since released two additional albums and has been a part of numerous projects in the field.
He most recently founded the record label Twisted Records, working with electronic masters by the likes of Raja Ram and Benji Vaughan in the creation of electric duos Younger Brother and Shpongle. His unique trance sound combined with a world music flare has spearheaded a new genre of music called Physbient, a world of music combinating electronic with live instrumentals.
Posford will be arriving in Israel for his performance at the Urbanika Festival, and will begin his visit with this exclusive workshop.
Tickets are 40 shekels, and free for students and alumni of BPM. Tickets may be purchased online, or call 072-2204452.
