Fresh Paint 6 will take place in Tel Aviv from May 21 – 26, 2013. The contemporary art fair showcases the work of independent artists in Israel, as well as those represented by galleries. The artsy happening maintains a fresh perspective, appearing in a new venue each year. This year’s venue will be The New Logistics Center, Tel Aviv – Yafo, 48 Tel Giborim Street, South Tel Aviv. An intriguing new feature this year is the fair’s expansion into the realm of design, with the launching of Fresh Design 1. Following the successful model of Fresh Paint, there will be two exhibition categories: Design Projects, featuring the work of established designers, and the Design Greenhouse, which will feature works by emerging designers. Greenhouse committee members Yael Taragan (independent designer and researcher, teaching at Bezalel), Pini Leibovich (designer and senior lecturer at Shenkar), Ifat Finkelman (architect, Dept of Architecture, Bezalel), and Naama Steinbock (designer, senior lecturer at HIT, Holon Institute of Technology), have selected about a hundred design items for display, reflecting a wide range of uses and approaches to design. Among the established designers exhibiting in Design Projects are: Daniella Lehavi, Jacquard 2.0, Kastiel, Monkey Business, Noam Dover and Michal Cederbaum, SOHO, and many more.
Fresh Paint gives annual award for The Most Promising Artist. Last year’s award was shared by artists Elham Rokni and Matan Mittwoch, who will each present a solo show at Fresh Paint 6.
