As it turns out, they are going to live forever, or at least for a while longer. The 80s television series FAME is back by popular demand, and will be shown on Channel 1 and in HD on Channel 511 this August. Currently showing on Saturdays, Fame will air daily at 15:30, starting on Sunday, August 4, 2013.
The venerable ancestor of Glee, High School Musical and their ilk, features a fun and flamboyant cast of students and teachers at the New York City High School for the Performing Arts. Based on the eponymous film (oh yeah, we’re not mentioning the 2009 remake here) the series ran from 1982 – 1987. Sensitive musician Bruno Martelli, dancer Leroy Johnson, good girl Doris Schwartz and hot girl Coco Hernandez all playing out their dreams, amorous adventures and disappointments, all choreographed by Debbie Allen, with a really fun theme song written by Michael Gore and Dean Pitchford.
Enjoy!
