Christian von Ditfurth, German historian and author will be at the Goethe Institute in Jerusalem on Monday, January 18, at 19:00 for the book launch of his successful mystery novel A Paragon of Virtue (Mann Ohne Makel). The prickly protagonist Stachelmann, loner, procrastinator, frustrated and yet passionate academic, is drawn into helping his college friend Oskar (revolutionary turned police detective) solve a series of murders. First in the Stachelmann series, the book was published in English by Toby Press in March 2008, the book is now available from Toby Press in Hebrew, translated by Dafna Amit.

Christian von Ditfurth will read excerpts from his novel, followed by a discussion (in English) with the audience. It’s rare to find a mystery novel written with such humor, insight and intelligence. Midnight East recommends that you take advantage of the opportunity to meet and talk with the author. Entrance is free.
