A collage of Hip hop, Stravinsky and original music composed by Ori Lichtik is the soundtrack for Killer Pig, a dance choreographed by Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar. Created in 2009 for the Carte Blanche dance company in Norway, as a work for 6 female dancers, Killer Pig will premiere in Israel on September 29 & 30, 2014 at Reading 3, performed by Eyal and Behar’s L-E-V dance company.
Sharon Eyal is a dancer and choreographer with a distinctive style. She began her career as a dancer in the Batsheva Dance Company from 1990 – 2008, was co-artistic director of the company from 2003 – 2004, and house choreographer from 2005 – 2012. Among the works Eyal created with the Batsheva Dance Company are: Love (2003), Bertolina (2006), and Bill (2010). One of the founders of the local techno music scene, Gai Behar worked with Eyal on Bertolina, along with musician Ori Lichtik, and this triumvirate has continued their creative collaboration to this day. Eyal and Behar founded the L-E-V dance company in 2013, and their ensemble of dancers is simply superb. Eyal’s choreographies have the feel of a sensual, urban tribe, a dance of pulsating primal urges in an alienated machine universe.
Performances: September 29th & 30th at 21:00, Reading 3 (Port of Tel Aviv). Tickets are 160 – 180 NIS, and may be ordered online via www.eventime.co.il.
