It’s a great opportunity to hear this talented artist talk about his work!

Garri Bardin worked as an animated cartoon director at Soyuzmultfilm Studios, making 15 films in as many years. His films have won three Nica awards and the “Golden Olive Branch” at Cannes, as well as other international prizes. He opened his own studio, Stayer, in 1991.

Bardin’s films employ diverse animation techniques, evoking different moods and themes. As just a small sample of his work, I’m including two very different works. Grey Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood (1990) is a rousing political musical in clay animation with subtitles in English, while Adagio (2000) uses origami to tell a poetic tale of a hero.
