Move into summer with Tel Aviv Dance 2015, two months of dance performances – international and Israeli artists – at Suzanne Dellal from July 1 – September 5, 2015.
International performances:
Incidence Chorégraphique – Soloists of the Paris Opera with artistic director Bruno Bouché return with a new program that includes: Nuit Blanche by Simon Valastro, music by Thomas Mendez; Reversibilité by Michel Kelemenis, music by Maurice Ravel; Blue Sunday by Yvon Demol, music by Maurice Ravel; and Bless – ainsi soit-il by Bruno Bouché, music by Bach.
Igal Perry and Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, which he founded in 1984, come to Israel from New York with three works: Thundering Silence by Igal Perry, music by Vladimir Martynov; Crazy, Crazy Love by Manuel Vignoulle to music by The Platters, Paul Anka; Evermore by Dwight Rhoden, music – jazz standards performed by Nat King Cole. The company’s style is influenced by classical dance, their eclectic repertoire includes works by noted choreographers invited to create for the company, such as that by Dwight Rhoden of Complexions Dance Company.
Dance España will be a special platform dedicated to flamenco and contemporary dance from Spain. The Increpación Dance Company, which last performed in Israel in 1999, will return to perform in this program. Founded twenty years ago by artistic directors Montse Sánchez Ramón Baeza, the company is based in Barcelona. The company’s mission is to create a new movement language through research of Spanish dance and Flamenco, and its fusion with the choreography and techniques of contemporary dance.
The arrival of Spanish flamenco dancer Eva Yerbabuena is an exciting event, considered a leading dancer this style, she founded her own dance company in 1998 with her husband Paco Jarana as musical director, and won Spain’s Premio Nacional de Danza in 2001. Born Eva María Garrido Garcia, a friend gave her the name “Yerbabuena” after a flamenco singer named Fransquito Yerbabuena. with Manolete, Merche Esmeralda, Javier Latorre,Joaquín Cortés, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Pina Bausch. In 1997 she appeared in Mike Figgis’ documentary Flamenco Women, and in 2002 she participated in Pulse: A Stomp Odyssey with Jarana accompanying her Petenera on guitar – catch a glimpse of her moves at 1:01.
Coming from Spain is Israeli dancer/choreographer Sharon Fridman who founded his dance company in Madrid in 2007. Fridman’s choreography is influenced by contact-improvisation technique, he will be bringing two works to Suzanne Dellal: Caídalibre/Free fall and Hasta Dónde?

Winners of the choreography festival in Seoul will perform in Tel Aviv Dance, showcasing contemporary dance from South Korea.
