InDnegev, Yaarot Menashe, The Zone, The Barby, Levontin 7, Zappa – Victor MUPERPHOTO (the professional name of Victor List) is there. Wherever there’s a stage and musicians, there you’ll find Victor, in the heat of the scene, camera in hand. Watching Victor at work, he is so fully in the music, so attuned to every nuance; he sees the music and in his photographs we are immersed in sound and emotion made visible.
No Fear, No Regrets is an exhibit of Victor’s portraits of musicians. It is an intimate collection of moments, taken backstage, in the recording studio or wherever their paths might meet. The photos are not staged, it’s just a simple one to one encounter, person to person. The intimacy and honesty of these portraits reflects the deep connection between Victor and all the people he has worked with over the years, all connected through music.
The title for this exhibition is inspired by a quote from the singer-songwriter Kamila, who said of Victor’s photographs:
“Victor is the only photographer who through his lens, I love myself. No fear, no regrets. I am just me. Through Victor’s photographs, I do not judge myself. I see in his photographs those rare moments in which onstage I let go of all that is inessential, and simply existed in the present moment.”
No Fear, No Regrets: Portraits of Musicians by Victor MUPERPHOTO will open on November 9, 2015 at Kuli Alma, Mikve Israel 10, Tel Aviv. The exhibit will remain up through November 18th.
