The New Israeli Vocal Ensemble will host Shlomi Shaban in a special program that spans a range of styles, highlighting the versatility of the ensemble and pianist/composer Shaban. This third concert in the season will be performed in Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Raanana, beginning May 2, 2016.

The ensemble and Shaban will perform each alone and together, creating a musical dialogue between the two. The concert will include favorite songs by Leonard Cohen and Israeli composer Sasha Argov, as well as classical works and originals by Shlomi Shaban. The classically trained Shaban will accompany the ensemble in works by Gabriel Fauré and Frédéric Chopin. Together, the ensemble and Shaban will perform works with new vocal arrangements by leading Israeli choral arrangers Tzvi Sherf, Moshe Zorman, and Ben Yefet.  The evening will close with Shlomi Shaban, performing solo at the piano.

In their annual concert season, Musical Director and conductor Yuval Ben Ozer always includes a concert that has a different feel, and expresses the abilities of the chorus to perform music in a variety of styles. Thus they have collaborated in the past with Yoni Rechter, the Andalusian Orchestra Ashdod, and now with Shlomi Shaban.
