With rock guitar, songs of the Israeli experience, and a deep voice with a bittersweet sensibility – Roi Gutman’s debut album HaHizdamnut Halfa invites the listener to come close and linger. As the title track indicates (loosely translated, HaHizdamnut Halfa means lost opportunity), these are songs of experience in more ways than one. Written over a long period of time, they reflect different moods and moments: the sweetness of a kiss, the empty taste of missed chances, the salt of everyday life. Sometimes tinged with sadness, sometimes with a smile, this is the voice of a writer who is well-traveled, and is still “pedaling on the margins,” protesting the injustices, doing a lot of soul-searching, and embracing love.
Roi Gutman will launch his album in a full band performance on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Beit HaYotzer (Hangar 22, Port of Tel Aviv). Opening for Roi will be Ronen Green. Performing: Roi Gutman – vocals & acoustic guitar, Oren Freund – acoustic guitar, Daniel Alman – bass, Harel Hadad – electric guitar, Mati Zilberstein – percussion. The show will begin at 21:00, admission 25 NIS.
