Scholar of Russian Literature, songwriter and mesmerizing performer, Korolenko is an embodiment of contrasts, with an edgy wit, uninhibited physicality dancing like a bearded psychedelic ballerina, embracing skepticism and poignant evocation of Jewish spirituality all in one great bear hug, eyes flashing with black fire and a spark of mischief. Yiddish Glory: Lost and Found Songs of Soviet Jews during WWII at Beth Shalom Aleichem (2 Berkowitz St)! Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Psoy Korolenko (Moscow – New York) and historian Anna Shternshis (University of Toronto) bring to life long lost Yiddish songs of World War II in this all-new concert and lecture program.
