What will the day after the COVID-19 pandemic look like? How will this experience affect our future? Will everything go back to the way it used to be? Will anything be like it was before?

The impact and tragedy of this worldwide crisis is undeniable, yet it may also be viewed as an opportunity for reflection and change. The Jerusalem Cinematheque in collaboration with the Van Leer Group, the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute, the Bernard van Leer Foundation and Haaretz presents The Day After, a curated online program presenting different perspectives and ideas for constructing new narratives for the future.

Discussion panels with leading intellectuals and a series of films will focus on five central issues that the pandemic has brought to the fore: economics, humans and the environment, immigration, leadership in times of crisis, and changes in family life. Among the participants are: artist Ai Wei Wei; Yves Daccord Former Director General – Red Cross; Yanis Varoufakis Economist, former Minister of Finance of Greece;  Jennifer Morgan EXD, Greenpeace International; Prof. Ngaire Woods, founding dean of the Blavatnik School of Government and professor of Global Economic Governance at the University of Oxford; and Dr. Philipp Rösler, former Federal Minister of Economics and Vice Chancellor of Germany.
