Wednesday, October 25, 2023 will be World Opera Day, and on this occasion the Israeli Opera calls out to opera houses and opera lovers worldwide to join them in the efforts for the safe release of the hostages held in Gaza. Tomorrow will not be a day of celebration at the Israeli Opera, instead, they have chosen to mark the day with a special performance, in English and Hebrew, of the song Bring Him Home, from the musical Les Misérables, composed by Claude-Michel Schönberg, with lyrics by Alain Boublil and Herbert Kretzmer. Bring Him Home is performed by Israeli Opera soloists Anat Czarny (mezzo soprano) and Oded Reich (baritone) with arrangements, Hebrew lyrics, and piano by David Sebba. Please listen and share.
