Let’s Change the Subject

Efrat was always very good at loss. Unfortunately, this did not prepare her for the death of her mother, a woman of great presence with a talent for repression, whose death left Efrat with a hole in her heart and an endless accumulation of objects. In a sad, funny, and creepy performance, Efrat summons her mother in order to decide what to do with this legacy, resolve their issues, and understand where and how she can go on from here.

As You Wish

A performance without words that offers a look into a solitary 50-year-old woman’s evening, as she comes home after a day’s work and tries to fill her time with simple routine. As she goes about her small apartment – looking for a show to watch, fixing something to eat and drink, cleaning up – an ordinary person is revealed, a person who wishes to be and find something of value in life, in the crazy reality of Israel 2025 that invades her living room.

Saudade

The incredible story of Paolo, who grew up in Brazil with two mothers, immigrating to Israel and found himself between Samba, soccer, and curses in halting Hebrew. But there is one memory that won’t leave him alone, a question that keeps echoing. With bold humor, larger than life characters, and a never-ending soundtrack – how can the pain be separated from the longing?

Written and performed by Paulo E. Moura; Director and Dramaturg: Nimrod Denishman

Performances: April 15th at 20:00; April 16th at 18:00 and 20:00. Hameshulash Theatre.

Rabinovich and Him – The Cuckoo Theatre

Yochanan doesn’t come alone, he is never alone. A problem at the train station brings all trains to a stop and Yochanan Rabinovich is sent to explain the situation to the public. Now everyone waits…and in the meantime – he speaks and the words create a world full of joy and innocence, but also anger and suspicion. Humor and pain are interwoven in his complex character that is revealed in the interim before the trains head out again and it is time to say goodbye.
