
The Tel Aviv Cinematheque celebrates the Israeli Opera’s 25th anniversary with a series of opera films, lectures and discussions – and music!
“Humor in the Opera” will open the series on August 14 at 13:00. Michael Eisenstadt, the artistic director of the Israeli Opera will interview David Zeba – writer, translator, composer, conductor and creator of the operatic stand-up “Mad Opera.” Israeli Opera soprano Hila Pahima and Mezzo Soprano Ifat Weiskopf will perform arias and duets, with piano accompaniment. A screening of the Marx Brothers film A Night at the Opera (US 1935), directed by Sam Wood – brilliant, zany and not to be missed!
