Tel Aviv Dance 2010 opens at the Suzanne Dellal Centre on October 6 with the Accrorap Dance Company from France. Petites Histoires.com, choreographed by Kader Attou to a classical soundtrack, redefines Hip Hop, travelling into the realm of childhood memories and fairy tales.
French Algerian dancer/choreographer Kader Attou (b. 1974) was introduced to dance like many of his generation, through television. Attou founded Accrorap, a French Hip Hop dance company, in 1989.
“I have always been interested in “les courts- métrages” (short film format),” Attou said of Petites Histoires.com in a recent press release, “I am attracted to their talent for conveying a story in a very short time, removing the superfluous to arrive at the essentials and seek a surprising effect…To search, find and recount in a short space of time that which has been hidden within me, and in each of us…to awaken memories, words, pain, to listen and understand one another, to reach out and expand…”
Attou and Accrorap will perform in Israel and other countries in the region, including the Palestinian Authority, Jordan and Lebanon. Accrorap’s performance is sponsored by the Cultural Department of the French Embassy in Israel.
