Dr. Yael Reisner will discuss her new book “Architecture and Beauty: Conversations with Architects About a Troubled Relationship” on Monday, November 29 at 19:30 at the Sipur Pashut bookstore on 36 Shabazi Street in Neve Tzedek.
Architecture and Beauty: Conversations with Architects About a Troubled Relationship, written with Fleur Watson, was published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd in 2010. The book is based on Reisner’s conversations with leading architects, reflecting their thoughts on aesthetics and sharing their personal experiences. Each chapter is devoted to an individual, the book features conversations with: Will Alsop, Hernan Diaz Alonso, Peter Cook, Odile Decq, Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Zvi Hecker, Mark Goulthorpe, Kolatan/MacDonald Studio, Greg Lynn, Tom Mayne, Juhani Pallasmaa, Gaetano Pesce, Eric Owen Moss, Wolf Prix and Lebbeus Woods.
Yael Reisner has a Ph.D. in architecture from the RMIT in Melbourne, a diploma and RIBA Part 2 from the Architectural Association in London, and a BSc in Biology from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. After nine years of teaching Architectural Design at the Bartlett School of Architecture UCL, she currently teaches internationally.
