Center Stage Auditions for Jewtopia

Center Stage Theater, currently showing Thornton Wilder’s “Skin of Our Teeth” is already gearing up for their next production: “Jewtopia”, written by Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson.

A comic look at the Jewish internet dating scene, auditions for “Jewtopia” will talk place on Monday, January 31, 2011 and Tuesday February 1, 2011 from 19:00 – 21:00. Looking for 8 actors, male and female, ages 20 – 65. Prepare a comedic monologue and you may want to reflect on some of your latest dating experiences as background (or not).

Center Stage describes the play: Two 30 year old single men, A hot non-Jewish lady-killer, and a Jewish schlemiel who just can’t get a date, band together to take on the world of Jewish Internet Dating, more specifically… J-Date!

Chris O’Connell wants to marry a Jewish girl so he’ll never have to make another decision, Adam Lipschitz needs to marry a Jewish girl to please his family, but can’t get a date to save his life. Chris promises that he’ll help Adam find the Jewish girl of his dreams and show him “Jewtopia” but only if Adam will help Chris shed his gentile-ness and bring him undercover into the Jewish world so that he can get married. Stereoptypes collide, cultures clash, and chaos ensues! Is J-Date ready for the test?
